  • Every client is issued with a unique Netcells Registration Number.
  • Your baby stem cells are collected in a uniquely identifiable collection bag.
  • They are couriered in special temperature controlled kits, to help ensure that the cells remain at room temperature.
  • The client registration number, collection bag, collection kit, hospital of collection and waybill number are all cross-referenced to ensure that the cells can never be mixed up.
  • All cord blood units are individually bar coded on receipt at the laboratory.
  • The stem cells are stored in a bag in an aluminium cassette for extra protection, with both bag and cassette being bar-coded and individually labelled with special cryo-labels (to withstand the extreme cryogenic temperature) with the Client Name and Registration number.
  • Each stem cell unit has a unique storage location, which is certified on the Storage Certificate issued to you.
  • The premises are monitored by 24-hour cameras.
  • Our laboratory is alarm protected and has restrictive Limtech fingerprint access control to the cryogenic storage tank area.
  • We are the only stem cell laboratory in Africa to have installed a sophisticated Remrad Fire Detection and Suppression System. If a change in air particles is detected and verified, then the system automatically dumps FM200 gas. This virtually eliminates the risk of our stored stem cells ever being destroyed by a fire.
  • A specialised Facility Monitoring System electronically monitors our facility, equipment and storage tanks. Netcells management are kept informed by sms if anything falls outside of its designated range so that immediate action can be taken. For example, we are informed if the temperature of the storage tanks increase, the liquid nitrogen levels drop or the electricity supply is interrupted etc.
  • Contrary to popular belief, the storage tanks do not operate off electricity.
  • However, electricity is critical to our laboratory processing equipment and we have a 20KVA UPS to manage interruptions and spike in Eskom’s electricity supply as well as a 30KVA back-up generator.
  • We operate on a totally transparent basis and you are welcome to come and visit us at anytime and see how we process and store stem cells.
  • Netcells is in excellent financial health. It has absolutely no external debt and the entire business has been funded by its shareholders.
  • None of Netcell’s laboratory equipment is financed, meaning that none of it can ever be repossessed for failure to meet repayment obligations.
  • Netcells has insurance cover and in the unlikely event of anything ever happening to your baby’s stem cells, you will be refunded the amount paid in terms of your contract with us.
  • No-one can ever guarantee that any company, regardless of size and/or reputation, will be around in the future, and therefore in the unlikely event Netcells ceasing to trade, Smart Cells International will ensure the ongoing storage of your baby’s stem cells.
